I apologize for my extreme lack of posts lately.

Between having a super busy weekend and just not feeling up to par....I kinda slipped on my blogging.

I didn't take as many pictures as I hoped I would have at all of the weekends festivities but I still had a great time despite being a bit under the weather.

I promise to post some pics soon...but right now there is a ginger ale calling my name!

Wednesday/Friday !!

It's my Friday ya'll and I couldn't be happier.  I decided to use of the rest of my vacation time and have myself an e-x-t-e-n-d-e-d Memorial Day weekend.  While I'm looking forward to getting some much needed rest, this weekend is sure to be another whirlwind of social-butterfly-ness for Mr. M & I.

We have a wedding to attend Friday night, a birthday party on Saturday AND a belated birthday dinner on Sunday. 

That basically means dressing up, dancing, and eating like its going out of style!! lol

I can't wait to get the festivities started...

I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures!!

So my awesome husband surprised me yesterday with a mid-week date night!!

I had been totally craving guacamole lately, so he of course chose Mexican for the evening! We headed to a small place called Zocalo.  We had been there once before and it was definitely worth going back!

Its such a cute place with intimate dining rooms and even an outside seating area. But since it was a bit humid, we decided to sit inside and soak up some free AC!! lol

We started with the guacamole. Seriously, they have the BEST gauc!!

I could have eaten two bowls all by myself, but we settled for just one AND I shared!!

For dinner, I chose the Carne Asada tacos.

More guac, fresh pico de gallo, sour cream, red rice, re-fried beans, and hot tortillas.

Needless to say...the plate was clean when we left!

After dinner, we headed to the movies. 

We chose a 7pm show this time to ensure neither of us would get too sleepy and miss it! We finally saw "Think Like A Man" and it was hilarious.  It was also nice that there were only 7 of us in the entire theater!! lol

It was a great date!

EPIC. WEEKEND.

Although its Monday (and that kinda sucks) I'm still walking around with my weekend "high".  Mr. M & I had A LOT ☺to celebrate this weekend!! Being the social butterflies that we are, we love to cram as much happiness into as little time as we can...hence THE WEEKEND!!

Today we celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary! 

5 WHOLE YEARS!!!

 I still can't believe that it's been that long. 

It seems like just yesterday that I was a nervous wreck...standing at the alter!

We have officially crossed over to the "old-married" couple phase of our life and I couldn't be happier. We were just talking about how we've "lived" and done in the last 5 years...I cant wait to see what the next 5, 20, 50 years holds for us! I am so blessed to have such an amazing and loving husband.

We kept our celebration "light" but it was filled with love, well wishes from family & friends, flowers

and of course...filet! lol

It was also Mr. M's 31st birthday!!

I told you we like to do it way big...I can't believe that he is getting soooo old!!! He was a 'lil tenderoni when I met him!!lol

It was a nice day spent with family...and we had a huge dinner at the chinese buffet.  Nothing too major, but it was still a great time and we plan on going away for an extended weekend later this year, to officially celebrate his special day!

And no birthday is complete without cake ...

He made a wish, blew out the candles, and then I went to sleep! It was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend and I couldn't have asked for more!

NEW YORK EDITION.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately...work has been super crazy so far this week and once I get home I'm too drained to really do anything productive, lol.  Here are some shots from my recent NY trip...it was really fun (although extremely tiring)..I think I'm getting old ya'll...lol.

I'll be sure to share some of the goodies that I picked up later this week...

Thursdate.

Have you ever had one of the days where you just wake up in the morning and basically say eff it?!!? I'm gonna throw on whatever, I don't care if someone does mistake me for being homeless, as long as I make it through this day?!?! No?!? Ok...well whatever!! But anyway...yesterday was that way for me...

I survived the work day barely...I was exhausted...I kinda looked like a bum (in my own mind anyway) and of course I somehow managed to drop lunch on my shirt AND pants leg...greeeeeat!!

But despite what I initially thought...the day (well night rather) got much better... I managed to make it home and spruced myself up just a 'lil bit.

(pay NO attention to the junk behind me...lol)

And Mr. M and I headed out to a much needed mid-week date at Pichana Brazilian Grill.  Think of all you can eat perfectly seasoned meats, slowly grilled and dripping with juicy deliciousness! EXACTLY!!! lol Topped off with a "salad" bar decked out with fresh fruits, rice & beans, slow roasted pork and pastas and it was a recipe for greedy happiness.

We (I mean I) couldnt end the meal without dessert and finally settled on a chocolate covered strawberry.

Make that a caramel covered...chocolate covered strawberry...umm yes. please.!!!

We wanted to go to the movies BUT being the old folks that we are, we decided that neither of us would be able to stay awake long enough to make it to the 9:35 show...yes, sad I know!! lol

And instead ended the night at a local water ice/ice cream stand on the way home.

The perfect ending to a perfect night!!!!

Lol...Yup its time for my bi-annual shopping trip to the Big Apple.  Its a day filled with friends, food, fun, and shopping and I absolutely CAN NOT wait to get there.  Its something about NY that I just love and it does wonders to my mood just being there...don't ask me why, but it does and if that makes me one of those annoying  "tourists" than dammit...SO BE IT!!


So, I'll be there, "dirty kabob" in one hand and camera in the other, living up every minute...but don't worry I'll be sharing of the details with you!

Sorry I'm just now getting around to this...the last few days have been crazy busy BUT I'm happy to say it's all over....I have survived my 1st semester of grad school!!! YAYYYY!!!! Whew...I'm so glad its over, now I get to relax for a whopping 2 1/2 weeks before the summer semester starts!! YAYYY (that was my sarcastic voice just in case you were wondering!!!) LOL....but anyways...

In The Name Of Shame.....

1. Declare your love for an uncool TV show.

I know I might catch a lot of flack for this but hey..aren't we all allowed a guilty pleasure or eight?!?

I am openly and honestly addicted to MTV's 16 and Pregnant (and of course each season of Teen Mom) like to the point where I feel like I actually know the girls and wait anxiously each week to find out whats going on in their lives.  I've even got Mr. M watching it now!!! 16 and Pregnant is not AS good (sometimes) as Teen Mom but it offers a small fix..lol until my girls come back for another season of drama (no matter how scripted it may or may not be!!) I don't know why I'm so drawn to the show...in most cases, the sheer stupidity of the "cast" just pisses me off...but yet I can't NOT watch it!! Lol...it's like that one song that you kinda hate but yet every time its on the radio...you catch yourself singing along!!

So there you have it...my love for what may or may not be an uncool TV show...we ALL have one...what's yours???
